Farmers’ Market Picnic

This is your sign to hit up a B.C. farmers’ market this weekend and enjoy the fresh flavours of summer with friends and family!

My recommendation is to of course have a picnic right after! All you need to do is pack a blanket, a cutting board and utensils, then you can pick up everything you need from the farmers’ market. A few of our favourite finds from the Sunday market were:

  • Fresh fruit and veggies from Sunshine Meadow Farms; a family run farm based out of Pitt Meadows
  • Mindful FUD Hunnie; a delicious honey alternative crafted from fallen apples in the Okanagan
  • Farming Karma soda; a refreshing soda, never made from concentrate without any added sugars and made from Okanagan apples

Did you know there are over 145 farmers’ markets located across B.C.? Farmers’ markets bring local farmers, food processors and artisans together. The BC Farmers’ Market Trail is your quickest route to find a local farmers’ market. Visit a B.C. farmers’ market and Buy BC to shop for in-season food and artisan goods.
